This fund is in memory of Liz Atkinson who died in Kings College hospital, London on 24 January 2008. She will be sadly missed by her colleagues on Lambeth Council and the friends of her recent year as Mayor of Lambeth. To her family, she is irreplaceable.
In honour of her work in Lambeth, her husband Richard Hardman and her daughter Kate have set up this fund as a scholarship for the further education of a Lambeth student.
Liz benefited greatly from studying at Birkbeck University later in life and the scholarship is open to anybody of any age.
Her funeral was held at Southwark Cathedral on 4 February 2008 at 3pm. Rather than flowers a donation to the fund would be greatly appreciated and we think Liz would have approved.
